I have the pleasure of having a husband born in early September. Every year his birthday falls very close to or on Fathers Day. This year he has turned 40. With the added bonus of one more son than this time last year. 3 x shopping for birthday presents, 3 x shopping for Fathers Day gifts – as well as gifts for Grandpa. One that buys at the school stall, one that brings home a kinder made gift. Plenty of giving this past weekend.
The festivities started with the Golf Club AGM being held on the night of the birthday. Saturday was breakfast in bed – a quick dash out for a shoot for me – then dinner at the pub with all the family.
Sunday was a lovely drive with Grandpa. Taking the boys up to Eildon to fish. Due to a broken bridge the drive took a little longer than intended, but we all enjoyed seeing all the water. Amazing to see it all so green, after it being a black area for so long now.
Then Monday was the big surprise – I had organised for Antons boss to give him the day off (achieved with a bit of fibbing – thanks Craig!) so that he could drive a V8 Race Car at Sandown. He’s still grinning now and has already negotiated going again for every birthday. I’ve never seen anyone so keen for their 41st birthday to roll around!
Overall a successful (and tiring) weekend. Thankfully there are 12 months until the next one.
Forever in love with photography,
